Luca Okay Can (b. 1996, Samedan) is a Zürich-based architect and researcher. He studied architecture at ETH Zürich, earning his Master’s degree in February 2023. Alongside his studies, he gained practical experience doing internships in various architectural firms in Zürich (Clea Gross Architekten, Elmiger Jonasse Architekten, Boris Gusic Architekt). Between March 2023 to February 2024, he worked as a Research Assistant at the Chair of the History and Theory of Urban Design of Prof. Tom Avermaete (ETH Zürich) where he was involved in teaching (Research Studio on Swiss Coloniality) and working on a research proposal. In spring 2024, he walked from Lugano to Rome.
Since June 2024, Luca has been working at the gta Archives, where he is currently working on a dissertation on architectural representation in the context of Zürich’s architectural competitions 1945–1994.
